Crow offers to take Star's pain & vulnerability, offering peace. All she has to do in return is convince others to commit murder in this dark urban fantasy. Star is a sassy mature woman-an over-40 heroine (anti-hero, honestly)-with a disturbing story of her perverse world, where mental health demons walk, talk, & sometimes bring you coffee; & the conspiracy of the infernal to use them against us.--Starling Nightcastle Book One Deals With Demons--Cover by Clarissa Kezen

WHAT READERS LIKE YOU ARE SAYING ABOUT Starling Nightcastle Book One Deals With Demons

  • Deals with Demons is an urban fantasy novel that focuses on the exploration of its characters happiness or lack thereof… I was moved by the questions the book asks. Would I make the deal? Would I exchange the chance for happiness if it would mean I also lose any unhappiness and all depression and anxiety? Star is a great main character and the way her deal works make for a great version of a unreliable narrator and an innocent villain… She would feel regret, if she could.Pasuht, ARC Reviewer
  • I loved Deals with Demons, the first in an adult urban fantasy series, and I cannot wait to see where the rest of the series takes us… The opening introduction to Star and Crow left me fascinated both as to Star’s background and as to Crow’s mystery… I love books that have a real grimy undertone and… there are shady shenanigans going on that the narrator doesn’t know about… This was a highly entertaining book that I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to sink their teeth into a new series. Bring on the next one!Rebecca, ARC Reviewer
  • I sympathize a lot with Star’s character. I’ve felt like it would be great to be able to do what she does… Paul may be my favorite character, but Crow is neck and neck with him. He just fills this role so well and makes me want to hate/love him. I recommend everyone give this book a read.HiddenFoxWillow, ARC Reviewer
